My room was adequate - the bedding was clean, although I found a pile of crisps shoved behind the chair. There was no need to complain as I was only there one night. The staff were very pleasant and helpful.

My son and I enjoyed a three night break at the Hotel De Normandie from 1st to 4th June. The Staff are all friendly and offer an excellent level of service. The rooms decoration is a little bit dated but the room we had was large and we could not fault the service - the room was cleaned daily and to a very good level. The only slight issue with this room was it was located on the street side of the building with a busy junction below the window - if the window was open the traffic noise could be quite loud at rush hour. The bathroom was again very clean and with reasonable space. The hotel is located in a nice position and is close to the bus stop for the excellent Jersey bus service. We used the pool and spa bath one evening and whilst this is again a little bit dated it was a good facility and the pool area and changing rooms were very clean. The hotel provide seperate towels for use in the pool which you collect and return to reception. The Breakfast had a good variety including a full cooked option which was very good - I particularly enjoyed the poached eggs! The restaurant was busy and the staff were helpful . The service was very good with food arriving in very good time. The cost of the room and breakfast was very good value for money and I would certainly book to stay here again.

I have been a regular visitor to this hotel over the past four years, and see no reason why I'd wish to consider staying anywhere else on the island. It is well located - near enough to walk into Town but far enough away to provide the peace needed for time away from everyday life! Staff are very polite and helpful, the costs are good value for money, in my opinion.

Excellent welcome by very pleasant and polite staffing. The room allocated was not suitable for my restricted walking and another suitable room was prepared and made available to us within a very short time, coffee provided while we waited. The selection at breakfast did not leave us wanting and generally the whole stay was really pleasant and enjoyable.

I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. I had a problem with the shower in my room, the hotel very quickly arranged for me to move rooms. I found the swimming pool to be a good extra which is not usually available in other hotels. The 2 rooms I stayed in were clean and very good value for money.

I booked a single room and was a bit sceptical when it only worked out at £71 in total for 3 night B&B. But, I needn't have been. The main lobby, lounge and bar had been recently refurbished and were clean and pleasant. My room was actually a twin room, and although the room was very 'tired' in terms of decor and carpets, the bathroom was spotless and the bed was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was adequate, with a choice of cereals, fruit and then cooked breakfast if you wanted it. All of the hotel staff were very polite, friendly, welcoming and helpful. Overall, it's certainly not the Grand Hotel or Hotel de France - but do you know what? At that price and with the location and the friendliness of the staff - who cares!

I've stayed in a few hotels around the St Helier area and have settled on the de Normandie as my 1st choice for next years planned visits to Jersey already. The hotel is both clean and tidy and the staff are helpful. I stay on a B&B basis and feel the breakfast options to be more than adequate. The bar meals available in the evening are fine; and whilst I've not used the leisure/pool facilities I've not heard any concerns about these whilst I've been there. Location is close enough for an easy walk into town (approx 15 mins) or bus station (approx 20mins.) In my opinion, this hotel represents particularly good value for money.

The hotel is clean and comfortable, certainly more than we expected given the good value and low star rating. Could happily rate it as a three star. Breakfast was great, plenty and good quality. All staff lovely and couldn't be more helpful. If you are looking for an ideal base from which to explore the island and want to be close to the sea, Hotel Normadie does not disappoint.

I enjoyed my stay at the hotel although I feel it was in need of some refurbishment in parts. Not much information on the pool facilities and the shower room there was in an extremely poor condition. Staff very helpful. Good location, walking distance of St Helier.

We had a lovely relaxing holiday at the de Normandie. Our room had a balcony overlooking the beach (but there was a road and some low buildings in between). All required facilities were there, i.e. ensuite, balcony, sea view, tea making tray in room, swimming pool/leisure centre, wifi available in lounge downstairs. Approx 10 mins walk to shops in Queen Street/King Street and about same to Liberation Square where lots of bus tours to from, petit train to St. Aubin, steam clock. Tours can be booked through hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included and did not disappoint. Fruit, cereals, toast, tea/coffee readily available and cooked breakfast too. Overall, very enjoyable holiday, bathroom was spotless (newly refurbished). Room cleaned daily. Would certainly recommend and would return.

No problems. Staff all very friendly and helpful. As this was our first visit both to the hotel and to Jersey, it would have been useful if there had been some sort of map with directions showing the best/quickest route into town that didn't involve a trek round the sea-front (quite a long and not particularly scenic walk past the recycling plant) or a dash through the fume-filled tunnel. We did eventually find a better route through some gardens.

The hotel was excellent, good value for money, with a good location in St Hellier. The staff were helpful and friendly. The only thing that spoiled it was the limited car parking. There were definitely not enough spaces. The hotel needs to allocate car park spaces to guests. There was an overflow car park around the corner, but this appeared to be mainly taken by non-guests and there was no attempt to get these interlopers removed - some of which were commercial vehicles.
